Rather than purely academic issues, these guidelines emphasize the routines and attitudes to be taken by the student before the beginning of the studies, and in the actions to be carried out in order to get on the right foot in the preparation of the master's degree.

The CEF.-and the UDIMA publish a series of tips for those students who are starting a master program or go to do so in the coming days. Designing a roadmap, caring for networking and sharing the efforts throughout the year are some of their recommendations.

10 tips for who will start a master's degree

1. Design a roadmap. Assuming that you know the program and the academic resources that you have, you must structure the deadlines for each subject, mark a planning and a study calendar in which no subject is too far behind. Although this is important in both classroom and online teaching, it is in the latter where the roadmap becomes more necessary.

2. Anticipate to "down". A master's degree is a journey full of emotional ups and downs. The normal thing is to start with a lot of strength and motivation, but as you spend the weeks of intense work and high demand, fatigue makes a dent and you may even come to doubt your ability. It is a normal phase that will gradually fade away. It is important that you do not change your study habits and persist in the scheduled work until you catch cruising speed again.

3. Harmonize your time. Fundamental requirement, especially for the distance student. You have to structure your daily study time, avoiding distractions, to take advantage of it as much as possible. 6. Do not think that in an online master you can not work as a team. In the classroom teaching, teamwork is a key position in the educational methodology, but also in the distance learning. The technological platforms and virtual classrooms provide numerous tools and resources so that the distance does not prevent the companions working side by side.

7. Show yourself participative to your classmates and professors. A master's degree not only brings you "what you learn", but also "who do you know ". 9. Do not "Peck" on the program. Surely some subjects are going to like you more than others, but you should not give preference to some of the others that you like less or even "hate". Strive to meet the curriculum fairly, otherwise, you'll have to make an extra effort in the future that will certainly create problems for you.

10. Slow but safe. Don't look for excellence from the beginning. Starting too hard can subtract energy for the next few months. Give yourself a time of adaptation and practice constancy. The important thing is not to emphasize but to cover the stages that you have set and to settle the knowledge that you acquire. The time will give you security and you will be able to mark bigger goals.
